BERLIN, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- IFA Berlin 2025, one of the world's largest trade fairs for consumer electronics and home appliances, opened Friday, spotlighting future-oriented themes such as information technology, artificial intelligence, software and computing power, and sustainable solutions for home, mobility, and lifestyle.
"Berlin becomes a stage for technology, culture, and community during IFA," said Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management GmbH. "With our partners and exhibitors, we create a space where the breadth of home and consumer tech can be experienced."
This year's IFA will bring together about 1,900 exhibitors from around the world, with more than 200,000 visitors expected during the five-day event.
"IFA is a unique meeting place for the global tech industry. Here, trade visitors and end consumers can marvel at the innovations that will shape our everyday lives in the coming years," said Sara Warneke, managing director of GFU Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH.
At the IFA this year, Chinese brands remain at the forefront of the exhibition. Major brands such as Haier, Hisense, and TCL are presenting their latest innovations in AI-powered appliances, smart displays, and energy-efficient solutions. According to Lindner, Chinese firms are increasingly positioning themselves as global innovators, bringing advanced technologies to international markets.
TCL is marking its 15th consecutive year at IFA with a 2,662-square-meter exhibition space. As an official worldwide partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the company has unveiled a dedicated Winter Olympics-themed zone.
"IFA 2025 is not only a global showcase of cutting-edge technology today, but also a starting point for the next century of technological revolution. We look forward to seeing more future-oriented products -- smarter, greener, healthier, and more human-centric," said Daniel Sun, CTO of TCL Industries, in an interview with Xinhua.
"Among these innovations, artificial intelligence stands out as a transformative force. We no longer see AI as a mere add-on feature, but as an integral part of a product's DNA, an authentic 'intelligent partner' for humanity," he said. ■
