MADRID, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Spanish top flight football clubs from the Basque region have reached an agreement enabling fans to watch their Basque derby games at affordable prices.

Osasuna's return to La Liga after winning promotion from the second division at the end of last season means that there will be 25 Basque derby games in the Spanish top flight in 2019/20.

Although Osasuna is based in the city of Pamplona in neighboring Navarre, they have always had a strong identity and close cultural links with Basque sides Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, Deportivo Alaves and Eibar.

The five clubs on Wednesday reached an agreement to limit the price of tickets for visiting fans for Basque derbies to 25 euros, well below what visiting fans would usually pay to see a game in Spain, where ticket prices usually start at around 40 euros.

The five club presidents: Aitor Elizegi (Athletic Bilbao), Jokin Aperribay (Real Sociedad), Luis Sabalza (Osasuna), Alfonso Fernandez de Troconiz (Alaves) and Amaia Gorostiza (Eibar) signed an agreement in which the clubs "intend to encourage attendance and a good atmosphere among the supporters of the different teams," after meeting at Real Sociedad's Anoeta Stadium.

The first game where visiting fans will be able to benefit from the new prices comes in the second week of the season when Osasuna entertain Eibar.
